Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions govern all interactions related to manuscript submission, editorial processing, and publication services provided by Azerbaijan Medical Journal (AMJ) through its official website (Azerbaijan Medical Journal ) and associated communications. By accessing the website, submitting a manuscript, or corresponding with the journal (including via email), you (“Author”) acknowledge and agree to be bound by the following terms.
1. Scope and Legal Agreement
1.1. These Terms apply to all publication agreements concluded via the AMJ online submission system, email correspondence, or any related service offered by the journal.
1.2. The term “Author” refers to any individual or group submitting a manuscript for peer review and potential publication, as well as any user of AMJ’s digital platform.
1.3. Any additional, conflicting, or supplementary terms proposed by the Author or a third party shall not be valid unless expressly accepted in writing by an authorized representative of Azerbaijan Medical Journal.
1.4. Submission of a manuscript constitutes full acceptance of these Terms, the journal’s Copyright Transfer Agreement, and Publication Ethics Policy. No refunds will be issued for the Article Processing Charge (APC) under any circumstances once the submission process has commenced.
2. Eligibility and Registration
2.1. To submit a manuscript, the Author must:
• Be at least 18 years of age;
• Possess full legal capacity;
• Complete the registration process on the official AMJ submission portal.
2.2. The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all co-authors have reviewed, approved, and consented to the submission and these terms.
3. Author Responsibilities
3.1. Originality and Exclusivity
• Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under review elsewhere.
• Duplicate submission, plagiarism, data falsification, or unethical research practices are strictly prohibited and will result in immediate rejection and possible notification to the authors’ institutions.
• Authors must disclose if the work has been presented as a conference abstract or posted as a preprint.
3.2. Authorship
• All listed authors must have made significant intellectual contributions and approve the final version.
• Any request to modify authorship after submission requires written justification and approval from all co-authors and the Editor-in-Chief.
4. Manuscript Formatting Requirements
To ensure consistency and facilitate peer review, all submissions must comply with the following international formatting standards:
• File Format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) only.
• Font: Times New Roman, 12-point.
• Line Spacing: Double-spaced throughout (including abstract, references, tables, and captions).
• Margins: 2.5 cm (1 inch) on all sides.
• Page Numbers: Bottom right corner, starting on the title page.
• Language: Clear, professional English.
• Structure: Include labeled sections: Title, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, References, and (if applicable) Tables and Figure Legends.
Manuscripts not meeting these requirements may be returned without review.
5. Reference Style
• Use the Vancouver numbering system (per ICMJE guidelines).
• Number references consecutively in the order of appearance in the text.
• Include DOIs for all journal articles where available.
• Ensure every in-text citation corresponds to an entry in the reference list, and vice versa.

6. Submission File Requirements
Authors must submit two separate files:
1. Blinded Manuscript File:
• Contains the full text with no author names, affiliations, or acknowledgments (to maintain anonymity during peer review).
• Tables and figure legends may be included in this file; high-resolution figures should be uploaded separately if required.
2. Title & Metadata File:
A standalone file containing only:
• Full article title
• Abstract (structured or unstructured, depending on article type)
• 4–6 keywords
• Full names of all authors
• Institutional affiliations (department, university/hospital, city, country)
• Corresponding author’s email address and ORCID iD (if available)
7. Final Submission Instructions
Both files must be sent together via email to the official journal address:

Please include in the email subject line:
“Manuscript Submission – [Article Title]”
Submissions sent without both required files or to any other email address will not be processed.
8. Publication Fees
Upon acceptance, the Author agrees to pay a non-refundable Article Processing Charge (APC) of €300. This fee supports peer review administration, editing, hosting, indexing, and long-term preservation of the published article.
