Open Access Policy
In today’s knowledge-driven era, the Open Access (OA) publishing model has emerged as the preferred alternative to traditional subscription-based systems, owing to its ability to provide immediate, barrier-free access to scientific knowledge for researchers, educators, policymakers, and the public worldwide.
At Azerbaijan Medical Journal (AMJ), we firmly believe that high-quality medical research should be freely available to all—regardless of institutional affiliation or financial capacity. By adopting a full Open Access model, we ensure that valuable scientific findings reach not only specialists in the field but also scholars, clinicians, students, and communities who might otherwise be excluded due to paywalls.
Upon acceptance, every manuscript undergoes professional copyediting, typesetting, and layout design by our in-house production team before being published online under an Open Access license. All articles are made freely and permanently accessible to anyone, anywhere, immediately upon publication.
AMJ publishes all content exclusively under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0). Under this license:
• Authors retain copyright of their work;
• Readers are granted the right to share, adapt, and build upon the material in any medium or format, provided proper attribution is given to the original author(s) and source.
The Article Processing Charge (APC) of €300 supports the full publication workflow—including peer review management, editorial oversight, professional formatting, digital archiving, long-term preservation, and maintenance of our state-of-the-art online publishing platform. This fee also covers all supplementary materials and color figures at no extra cost, ensuring that financial constraints never limit the richness or integrity of scholarly communication.
By choosing Open Access, AMJ advances the global dissemination of medical knowledge, fosters scientific collaboration, and upholds the principle that research—especially in health and medicine—should serve humanity as a whole.
